The Power of Cause & Effect

Psalm 126 : 5 & 6. – Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping bearing seeds for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with him.

There are three key elements in these scriptures that can give us insight into the life of a successful person.

1. PURPOSE // SOWING & REAPING

All successful people have a purpose in life.

Sowing & reaping is the function of purpose.

Increase is always the aim of true purpose.

2. PASSION // WEEPING & REJOICING

All successful people are passionate about life.

They laugh in the good times and weep in the bad.

They share their feelings with others.

3. PRODUCTIVITY // BEARING & BRINGING

They invest precious seed to reap a harvest

They bear their sowing seed carefully

They bring their harvest sheaves generously

You are called to make a profit in life, and consistent sowing & reaping will do that.

However life is much more than an endless cycle of sowing and reaping. There must be a higher call and bigger picture. Generosity is the true end of successful sowing and reaping.

Find your generosity purpose in life – and make it your joy. Out of every harvest or benefit gained in life – find some of the profit to give away.

Giving is better than consuming! Find someone you can serve by giving them a part of our your life, your experiences, your harvest!

WHAT CAN YOU GIVE TO GOD?

JOB 35 : 7 – “If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand.”

Much of what you will achieve in this special season will be dependent upon your ability to do the following three things.

a. FOCUS – on what you really want to achieve in life

b. YIELD – yield yourself to the living God.

C. APPLY – the discipline factor must be awakened.

However in all our doing and applying – it is absolutely imperative that we yield our lives to the living God. The more you yield to His purposes, the more He will entrust to you.

God does not need some trinket made with human hands or some amount of money gleaned from the work of your hands. Ultimately everything we do should be offered back to God as a gift. We should live our whole lives as a gift to our great creator.

We are created to be useful beings both to God and to our fellow man. We exist to offer Him our lives as sacrifices that are pleasing in His sight. Such sacrifices are not just our offerings in church each weekend. To live a life filled with the noble intention of pleasing God means that we have “got it”. We have caught on to life’s real purpose. To live the way God intended us to.

You see God has made us to be “creators not consumers.”

The “net” result of our lives should show that we have produced more than we have consumed, and in so doing have lived in the image of God.

In this 90 day season determine to give God a gift, by living in such a manner that you are a creator and supplier of good things for God and others, rather than just consuming His creation on your own needs and desires.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

Sit down with pen and paper and write down your life dreams. Don’t put time frames on anything, but just dream about the call of God on your life and the gifts He has given you to fufil your call.

Be intentional and faith filled. Ask God to give you clarity as to what can be achieved through one life dedicated to God’s purposes.

Spend some time thanking God for His call upon your life. You will never see all that God has prepared for them that love Him, but you will see enough of His plan to be overawed and thankful.

Keep the list of dreams for 90 Days to Exhale.

Are you new to Waypoint the last few months?
Love the Regroup – Refresh – Realign vision but want to know more?

This luncheon is a great opportunity to:

Get to know some other people new to Waypoint (and some who have been around for a while)

Learn about the history and vision of the church

Hear the faith story and adventure of Pastor Jeff & Leslie

Find out about opportunities to get more involved

Oh yeah, there will be lunch as well!

This is a casual event designed to help you connect with others who have begun to call Waypoint home. As well as, give you further insight into the ministry direction and passions of our staff. We begin shortly after our morning service and conclude within the hour. We hope you’ll come and find out more!

Our next Baptism Service will be Sunday, March 28th at 10:00am

Baptism is the act of obedience where we “go public with our faith in Jesus Christ.”

It illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection.

“Christ died for our sins…He was buried…and He rose again.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

“For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ.” Colossians 2:12

It illustrates my new life as a Christian

“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“By our baptism then, we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead…so also we may live a new life!” Romans 6:4

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer – it shows that you already believe. Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ does that. Baptism is like a wedding ring – it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you make in your heart.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8, 9
